Bestgate, though a county road, has adequate space for bike lanes and the county has said they will consider adding lanes or at least a shoulder when they next resurface. They can't do before because the paint is baked on. Having bike lanes here would be a major improvement as it is one of the only ways in and out of the city via bike. The path that has been constructed ad hoc north of the road is inadequate and not safe as there are so many road crossings.

There are many breaks in the bike lane, and the bike lane is small at that. Cars are extremely obnoxious and honk if you take even one inch of "their" lane. they drive it like a highway.

Bay Dale is great for riding on and the start of my commute.

Difficult to cross ramp to 50 west when heading south on Bay Dale. Not much to be done here, maybe signage, sharrows.

Nice big shoulder, this section is great up until Old Mill Bottom Road.

Good road surface, but you must ride in it with the traffic. Not much room to widen and add shoulder/bike lane even if $$$ was available. Too bad since this is a major connection for commuters headed into town from parts of Arnold and the Cape

This neighborhood is quiet with wide streets and a good way to get from route 2 to 179 and avoid some traffic and narrow roads. Some climbing though.

Decent shoulder here and its usually clean. Trash cans are sometimes an issue.

Some shoulder, but often overgrown and full of debris. Traffic and heavy and moves fast. Vegetation control would go a long way here.

Making a left from 450 heading SW to King George is very difficult. Everyone coming from B&A Trail,Severna Park, Arnold, and Cape has to come this way. I know several people who say this intersection is the worst part of their commute or the reason they don't commute. I would love to see some re-engineering here.

There should be a cycling path added. This would be a good recreational route between Annapolis and Kent island, and could also work for commuters.

Not ideal, but safter than route 2. Shoulder in places. Volume of car traffic diminishes quickly as one goes southwest out of Annapolis. Best choice for going southwest or west.

While a cycling commuter route to DC area, and also used by cyclists for recreational rides heading west, limited shoulder, high car speeds, frequent glass and debris in small shoulder, etc. make this a sub optimal route.

The very wide shoulder over the Old Severn River Bridge ends abruptly at the base of the bridge. The lane is narrow and it is very tight for a small car and a bike in the same lane. This can result in a bicycle going at a high speed after a steep hill being squeezed into a curb. -- Alex Pline

I'm a novice cyclist and I have real issues biking downtown. I can't go up mainstreet because of all the traffic and doors, and going down Duke of Gloucester is difficult too for the same reasons. I would bike more if there was a path around the downtown area.

I wish you could pay homeowners to purchase 3-4 feet of right-away for a better bike path!! So many bikers use St. Margarets Rd It is a perfect trail between the Sandy Point access roads and downtown Annapolis.

In the block on Bay Ridge south of Tyler, vegetation completely blocks bikes out of the marked shoulder area,forcing them into the main lane. Cars park frequently on the block as well.

People refuse to use the cross walks at this intersection druing the AM rush hour and PM rush hours. This results in the disruptions in the flow of traffic. A potential accident just waiting to happen.

The bike lane ends at the bottom of the bridge, and becomes the right turn lane for Route 648. Who has the right-of-way? Turning cars or bikes? I keep one eye on the mirror looking for turn signals, and will always yield to a turning car, but many drivers do not use turn signals.
