I am often trying to turn right onto Woodley Rd. so I can turn right again into the alley to park, and that right turn is very difficult. Cars are parked too close to the intersection on both sides of Woodley, so there is little room for turning if there is a car trying to enter Conn. Ave from Woodley, so pedestrians are often walking between cars that are waiting for other cars to get out of their way.

This is a tricky intersection for pedestrians, especially in the morning rush hour. Many people cross from the bus stop to the Metro station while cars are turning from Connecticut and from Porter.

This intersection is a joke for pedestrians. The crossing of Columbia Road is in two parts from the island. But there is no way to cross Connecticut Avenue from the island and a pedestrian must instead cross California Street twice. Crazy!

Klingle Road was the only underpass to Connecticut Avenue. Since it has been closed, traffic has been diverted to Porter street and then onto Connecticut, increasing the traffic load and danger to pedestrians.

The walk light is delayed from the green light because of traffic coming out of the service road. Many pedestrians do not understand that, and start crossing against traffic. Some sort of sign might help.

This is what is called an unmarked crosswalk and many people use it. It should be marked and tiger striped as a minimal protection. The law says that cars are to stop for pedestrians in unmarked crosswalks, but I have never seen that part of the law enforced.

I would agree with the comment that there ought to be a sign about the walk light being delayed due to the service road traffic. Also the trucks that frequent the alley block this area of Ordway for cars, creating congestion and dangerous situations for both pedestrians and cars.

The right turn from Calvert Street onto Connecticut Avenue is controlled by a traffic light. This should allow pedestrians a safe crossing. However, the first car at the intersection inevitably gets a late start moving, and the third decides that even though the light is now red and pedestrians have started walking, they deserve to take the turn. That's the car the almost kills me daily.

Because the crossing at Connecticut Avenue is such a long wait, I often cross Calvert Street at the unsignaled crosswalk at Woodley Place. However, the paint is now faded and there are no signs to warn cars about it, which treat the segment here and on the bridge as the one place they can speed without consequence.

There is no crosswalk here, which means if you are walking along the west side of Connecticut Avenue, you must walk all the way down along Kalorama to cross. In reality, many people dash across here hoping they won't get hit.

Now that the parking meters have been removed from the strip between the service lane and Conn. Ave., there is just about nowhere to lock up a bicycle. And the sidewalk is so narrow here that there's barely room for pedestrians much less bicycles.

The sidewalk along the service road is too narrow for pedestrians often forcing them to walk in the road if it is at a busy time. Certainly increased zoo goers traffic with strollers is a prime example.

Pedestrians walking on the east side of Connecticut Avenue have to cross Columbia Road with no stop sign or light to make drivers stop their cars. Others have noted other problems nearby: this stretch of the avenue and of Columbia Road are just awful to walk. I hope this project isn't limited to north of the Taft Bridge.

I and my dog have been nearly struck countless times by cars turning from Kalorama Road onto Connecticut as we were crossing the avenue with the light, and also by red light runners on Connecticut, usually northbound.

I've noticed that the light to allow cars to turn right onto Conn Ave from Woodley does not have a red arrow. I've come close to being run down a number of times trying to cross Conn Ave on this corner. It should be noted that i am an able-bodied person in my early 30s who frequently gets called out by friends for walking too fast. If I can't make it across without narrowly escaping death, I fear for others less agility than I.

I frequently cross here when walking between Connecticut and Fessenden, and have had a close call with cars more than once. Traffic only stops from 2 of 4 directions, and crosswalks are poorly marked.

Often cars are in the intersection because they can't see if the light is red or green at Conn. & Calvert, and can't decide where to wait, so I have to weave through cars to cross to Metro.

I often cross Conn. Ave. to go to CVS, or to Salon Roi, or to have lunch at a restaurant. Sometimes if I am in a hurry, and the traffic is light, I'll cross mid-street, because the lights are so long to wait for at each corner of the block.

2607 is my office. When the sign went up to stop people turning right into Woodley Pl during rush hour, it put me onto Conn. Ave. to get to my parking lot in the alley. This intersection is the worst on Connecticut Ave. the biggest problem is the exit from the Park and Shop, the service road and the intersection of Ordway and Conn. There is no getting around this intersection as there is with Porter and conn (metro underpass), so it is bad on the east side of the street. This and Macomb are the only intersections that require one to make two crossings. Because the east strip has most of the shops and restaurants, it gets a lot of traffic. How about using a barn dance at this intersection?

Ineffective left turn signal is often negated by car that is not turning sitting first in line, thus making any cars trying to turn left unable to move until the full green comes on, whereupon they sit and block all traffic, leading to unsafe lane changing.
