Use this interactive map to mark your mile and make comments in assisting our design team in developing a Greenway Master Plan for Jefferson County. Thank you!



LOGIN

Before you can mark your mile or add any comments you must login to CommunityWalk. In the upper right-hand corner click the “Login” link. When the next page comes up, enter the following information.

Username: oom
Password: ouronemile



INSTRUCTIONS

AREA OF CONCERN - zoom into the area you wish to view with the plus or minus key in the left hand corner.

DRAW A LINE - on the map representing a route. Click the "Start a Path" and then click successive points. Click the red "STOP Adding Points" link to end your line. Add a description to your line by clicking on one of the points you added and then clicking the “Promote to Marker” button in the balloon. Enter a title and category. Use the “Description” field to elaborate.

ADD A MARKER - click on the "Add Marker" link at the top of the page, then on the desired location. Enter a description.

COMMENT ON OTHER MARKERS - Comments on other markers can be placed on the map by clicking the “Add Comment” link at the bottom of each marker's balloon.

Please mark any of the following items on the map:

1. Frequent routes for walking
2. Scenic routes
3. Side-street route
4. Good canoe or kayak run
5. Difficult intersections
6. Uncomfortable traffic (too fast, too much, awkward turning, etc.)
7. Crash sites for bicycles and Pedestrians
8. Needed trail for bicycles and pedestrians
9. Needed sidewalks
10. Needed path connections between two corridors or destinations
11. Needed Canoe launch
12. Needed bicycle parking
13. Needed overpass or underpass
14. A destination (a park, school, landmark, shopping etc.)

LEGEND - located in the upper right-hand corner of the map. It can also be minimized by clicking on the down arrow to the left of the word "Legend."



TIPS
Change the view of the map between street map, aerial view, a hybrid of the two, or terrain by clicking on the corresponding buttons in the top right corner of the map.

Turn marker categories on and off by checking/unchecking the category in the map
