Advocacy
The Mill Creek Watershed Council of Communities enables Mill Creek communities to protect and enhance the value of the Mill Creek, its tributaries, and watershed. Through collaborative action, the Council strives to make the Mill Creek area a more desirable place to live, work and play. Watershed Council work is conducted through the work of its Board, committees and members. Focal areas during the past ten years have included - Water Quality, Flood Damage Reduction, Watershed Awareness, Recreation and Economic Development. The Council also partners with other local stakeholders on projects that benefit its members and the region. The Council publishes a quarterly newsletter, maintains two websites and sponsors at least one public awareness event each year.

Education
Imago seeks to preserve greenspace, create ecological urban environments, provide educational experiences that expand our awareness of interconnectedness, facilitate community-building activities, and rejoice through Earth-centered celebrations. Currently Imago has two main program areas designed to fulfill its mission. The Imago Earth Center is a 16 acre nature preserve located 5 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. The Earth Center provides programs for school and scout groups, as well as hiking and nature exploration opportunities to the general public. Imago's other program, Earth and Spirit focuses its energies on educating adults. In particular, educating adults about the instinctual connection that we all have with the natural world. The Earth and Spirit program offers workshops, a discussion course, and regular conferences. Imago is also an integral part of the Enright Ridge Eco-Village, a community inspiring earth friendly living that nurtures an intimate and prosperous neighborhood within it's uniquely forested urban setting.

The Western Wildlife Corridor, Inc. has been formed to protect, preserve and secure from harm the greenway corridor that runs along and in the vicinity of the Ohio River from Mill Creek to the Oxbow along the Great Miami River bordering Indiana. This corridor is a natural habitat for a wide variety of species of wildlife and plants and because of the soil structure, is extremely susceptible to slippage. These wooded natural areas are vital in providing for the emotional needs of people, cleansing the air, helping regulate temperatures and providing a natural buffer zone. This effort will be carried out in part by educating the public concerning this increasingly rare natural resource and its need for protection.

The Miami Group works to protect local wild areas. The protection of the Red River Gorge in Kentucky was an early campaign of the Miami Group. We continue to work for parks and green spaces, wetlands, and clean rivers. But it is not only these wild areas that concern us. We also work on issues that affect everyone's quality of life, such as energy conservation, global warming, recycling, toxins, air pollution, and urban sprawl. As a group, we work on these issues locally and through the Sierra Club's extraordinary statewide and national grassroots organization. For the last 80 years, the Izaak Walton League, a national conservation organization, has been addressing a broad range of issues affecting our nation's wildlife and natural resources. We work to educate decision-makers and the public through our national program staff and through our 50,000 members and supporters that are organized through 300+ community-based, volunteer chapters and state-level divisions. Our goal is to ensure that America's natural resource base is protected, managed and used to assure the quality of life in the long run. We accomplish this by emphasizing the hands-on role that individuals can play in habitat protection and restoration as well as through their local legislatures. Our current national conservation work includes staffed programs on public lands management, wetlands and clean water policy, sustainable agriculture and forestry, energy efficiency, clean air, citizen stream and wetland monitoring and restoration education, responsible outdoor behavior.
