My friend and I went to the New York Public Library Webster branch after school, were 'yelled at' by a librarian for making a little noise, and my friend left her binder at the library. It was early September, and she and I were new friends. When we got to the library, which is three blocks away from school, we went upstairs, put down our things by a table, got some books, and we sat down to read. Later on, we went to the magazine section and read a magazine (Seventeen, CosmoGirl!, or something of the sort), and a librarian scolded us for being too loud. She forgot her science binder at our table when she left, but I found it and brought it back to her the next Monday. (She was very relieved, naturally, since it had the homework in it.)

I really dont know the area around Eleanor Roosevelt very well, because I am not used to the neighborhood. One place that I really like to go to after or before school is Starbucks. I like Starbucks because of all the good things that they have there. When I go to Starbucks I really like to drink anything that they have and the food they have is really good. I love basically all of their frappacinos. I love going there after a long day of school and just hanging out there with my friends until I go home. Starbucks is a good place to just " chill " and not really worry about anything.

When you spend your whole life living in New York, riding on a train is the only possible way to get around. Stuffing yourself into a car full of strangers makes you feel like a small sardine in a can. It's ventilation & the lack of space makes this a very uncomfortable ride counting down the number of stops left before you can relieve yourself from this horrid environment. 10... 9... 8... 7... suddenly you feel the coolness of metal inside your jacket pocket. SALVATION! It's your mp3 player! By quickly stuffing the earphones into your ears, you can drown out the noisy clatter of the underground traffic & engulf yourself with the sound of musical instruments playing a sequence of notes. *Ding, your stop has come & your free from being crushed by the lady that had to steal the seat next to you & the ability to breathe somewhat fresh air.

The place that is special to me is time square 42 the street because that’s were all the fun begins that’s where u get to see all the weird things. One of the things that I love doing when I go over there is eating at Dave and busters and the arcade every time I get the chance to go over there that’s what I do. Then if I am still hungry I go to cold stone and some cake batter ice cream. I think it’s very interesting going there because is the only place that I know that has 1 million lights. The place I like to be is Yankees Stadium. It's the shape of a horse shoe. That stadium was built along time ago. There was a day when I went to Yankee Stadium Giambi was in a slump. He was no good to the Yankees. They wanted to send him to the minors. He was battling a bug which was a virus that got him sick and week. I was at the game when Giambi hit the upper deck homerun. He was batting and all you heard was boo's. The fans were saying that he sucks. I was cheering because who ever goes into a slump always comes back with a bang. Well I was just sitting there watching them about to lose. Giambi was up I was thinking to my self common please come back and do something my father said he is about to come back with a bang right now. I said what you think he is going to do hit a homerun. The count was 2and 2. He was about to strike out. He kept on battling the pitches and fouling them. Then a high fast ball came in 92 miles per hour see ya a solo homerun for Jason Giambi he is back. It went up to the upper deck. The Yankees won 5 to 4. My father said I told you He was going to come back at that moment I am great.

There are a few places that are special to me around the school community. Well the school itself is special to me because I attend Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Also the park is special to me because I go there with my friends and with my school to play, excercise, and have fun. I like to go to a park here in New York were I live. Tompkins Square Park is a lot of fun. There are many places to play. The park has many slides, tire swings, sprinklers and many squirels. In Tompkins Square Park, there is a dog park where you can take your dog and play with them and you get to give them a bath and it is very fun to play with dogs. In Tompkins Square Park you can go on tire swings and regular swings.

: A scary day

Once I was in near the monument of the Bandeirantes with my brother. We was in the car, my brother was driving. We were listening to the music.
Suddenly, a little poor boy was in my brother's window, with was half opened. I thought he was asking for money, and so did my brother. I looked better at him and I realized that he was trying to rob us. What was shocking was that he was only about 7 years old!
He was holding a broken bottle with his T-shirt. He was shouting "The radio, give me the radio". My brother tried to close his window but the robber was forcing it down.
My brother was about to give the radio but he remembered that it was an automatic car, so, he accelerated and the boy had to run and almost lost his hand.

I love Manhattan a lot because I lived here for my whole life and all of my schools have been in Manhattan. When I was about 3 years old I was in my first school and it was called 13 street school for 3 year olds. I was very good in that school and I loved that school because we used to take a nap for about and hour and we had our own blankets and that was really fun and cool. When I was in kidnergarden I did the same thing it is just that we had to do more work and we had to sleep on our desks and it was not really comfortable but i got used to it.

: The Subway Station - Melody

The subway is a place in my school community that is special to me. I take the subway to school everyday. I took the 6 train for three years going to middle school and now, I'm going to take this same train and I'm going to get off on the same stop for another four years for high school. In the morning, when I go to school I sleep on the train before school starts so that gives me some extra time. The train ride home gives me a chance to talk to my friends because I dont talk to them during class. Riding the subway gives me time to do whatever I need to do.

When I first started middle school, I thought that was new experience, but high school is a whole different animal, with a whole new experience for me. I'm the only one from my middle school, so coming to a school with no friends was a little hard. Everyone was real welcoming and it feels like a family. Hey, the name is David, and I'm going to be as honest as I can be. The best part of this community is the part when I'm going home. This being that way, the subway station means a lot to me. Doesn't mean that much to be when I'm coming from the subway station to the school, mainly because sometimes I have to rush because the trains travel so slow that I become in danger of being late. However, I'm still being honest when I say, that walking towards that station in the afternoon is one of the best parts of my day. The walk may be a 7 minute walk. but it's worth it, knowing that I have more than 12 hours away from school (except homework).

42nd Street- Times Square

In the community that I live in is very calm. But where all of the action is, is found in 42nd Street which is known as Times Square. It is far away from my school but not that far. In Times Square, all you see is bright lights, a lot of advertisement stuff and A LOT, A LOT of people. It is NEVER, NEVER empty at all. Sometimes it gets really fustrated to even walk there. A lot of the times that I have been to Times Square, there is always people from different states and countries which are tourists. When I go to Times Square, I try to go by train or the subway because when I go in the car with my parents, you really can't enjoy yourself as if you are walking because of the traffic. Sometimes I wonder how Times Square looked when it was the big blackout of 2003 since Times Square is nothing but lights.

Every morning I come to this corner on my bicycle and know that school is only a few blocks away but I also face the bumpiest few blocks of my entire morning ride!

This corner is my special place in the school neighborhood that could help someone relate to my life because I ride my bicycle to school everyday. Riding my bike is a big part of my life. I listen to podcasts while I ride and I also listen to the sounds of the city waking up each day. I leave my house around 6:30am and get to school around 7am. It is both a peaceful part of my day and the time that I wake up and get ready for the day's activities. When I get to this corner and turn onto 76th Street, I am really close to school and my thinking starts to focus clearly on the day ahead.

The place that I want to describe Is WENDYS. To me WENDYS brings hope when it comes to bacon burgers. The bacon burgers are very delicious. Wendys also have very good french fries, and for a $1.09 you cant go wronge. The nearset WENDYS is located around 14 street. I bet if the class was to vote for what place is better for the lunch and the choices were burger king or WENDYS, wendys would suceed and become the victor.

You won't beleive what I'm about to tell you. My significant place is popeyes located on 13th Street and First Avenue. As you can already tell I like Popeyes. Well, let me rephrase that...I LOVE peopeyes! Their sandwhiches are so good. Getting back to the point. The most memorable moment for one of my closest friends and me happened in Popeyes on the day before her birthday. In my case, I found out that my mom had been promoted in her job and was getting her own office and everything. I was so happy because she was happy. Our lives changed ever since then. We are getting to be more and more closer now that we were before. In my friends case, the guy that she had been longing for asked her out the day before her birhtday. From her tears of joy, I could tell that was the most precious moment of her life. She was so happy and nothing could take that away from her no matter what. Even though they split, she said that she has never felt that way about anyone in her life. It was like a dream come true and a love that can never be described. When people around me are happy it just makes life better and easier because I learn to enjoy the precious moments surrounding me.

I have a big community. But there is one special place that I always go to hang out with my friends and family. It's a park called East River DR! That park is a good park to play baseball, it has a lot of baseball fields. That park is special to me because I have a lot of memories with my family and friends going there. One memory is watching my uncle play a little league game, all my grandmother's friends were there and my grandmother had made food for all of us even for the players one my uncles team. Also we did BBQ's in that park, especially on a hot day!!! But the number one memory that stands out the most is every fourth of July my Dad and I watch the fire works, that is the most memorable day of my whole life because i usually don't see my Dad and that day brings us together. There is always a lot of people there on the fourth of July and your never alone at that park, like if you live in the Lower East Side you would know just about everybody there or remember a couple of faces. So now you know my most special place in New York.

This is my favorite place because this is where I played all my great football games. I may have had some games where I mess up a lot, but there were some games where I do badly at the beginning but when everyone starts to leave I start to do a lot of cool and hard things. I also had some scary moments where some kids had fights and then the police might come and run us out of the school. There was also a time where some brought with them a big wooden block with them. Sometimes we have arguments with the skateboarders there. We always play where there is the small cheap baseball field. There is a tree that always is in the way because it has a big branch sticking forward.

This community is important because it create a place for us to learn how to deal with the world. it gives us a place to learn. you get to meet different types of people. now a place that is maningful to me is my church. My church is very important to me because it gives me a loving enviroment. its so speacial to me because that is where I first started to believe in God. Plus this is where I found some of my best friends. If that place was to get destroyed i would feel so hurt. I would fight to keep that church standing. I love it because everyone is around there there's different types of people around there. Also I always go to the movies around there. And the fun times I had there I went bowling with my friends and we won against these people that we didn't even know. Tompkins Square Park is a popular park and it's special to me because I hang out there the most. It's a cool place to meet friends to hang out, walk around and look at the nature there like the trees, animals, and plants. I walk through the park to get to school and back home. The park is big, but you can't get lost in there. It's around 10th St and it's near my school, ESCHS. Tompkins is a clean environment with beautiful trees and flowers.

Clinton Street is changing again! I guess what's new is that a new immigrant group isn't finding its way on this street which has "seemingly been an immigrant enclave ever since it was paved and drawn on a street map" (The Lonesome Casita, NY Times, Sunday, September 17, 2006). The article left me wondering what is lost and what is gained when a "once-derelict property" on Clinton Street "will be the site of an eight-story apartment building, with a day care center on the ground floor and a small theater company in the basement." Couldn't this development be done while also trying to preserve the integrity of the Puerto Rican culture there?

This little bridge over a railyard in Queens is a special place for me. There's a walkway that has been built for pedestrians.

After long days of teaching at the International High School down the street from here, I remember using the big rectangular windows to freeze-frame cityscapes with the sun setting behind. My own momentary paintings!

The tracks below not only opened up the view to Lower Manhattan, but they also served as effective examples for the geometry curriculum that I co-taught for a couple of years with the math teacher, Persheen. By closing one eye and peering through these "windows" students could see what perspective looked like.

These things all made this odd, little bridge special to me. What makes it unforgettable comes from the fact that it was through these windows that I first saw smoke burning out of one of the Trade Center Buildings on the morning of September 11, 2001.

The place where I liked the most is not the school, not the subway station, nor the buildings. I like the Hudson River. When you are in New York City, you are most tired of tall skyscrapers and larger group of people. Tell me where you can't find these? In the park there are a lot of people; in street a lot of tall skyscrapers, then where? Only the place where people ignore the most, the Hudson River is the place. Calm peaceful water, smooth linear waves. Sometimes imagine the time, when Europeans hadn't discovered the city, what was it like? I soon give up because that ruins the calmness of the environment. There must have been a lot of Indians in the river hunting for food, just like the now a lot of people, that makes me sad a place that used to be the most popular site now becomes a place that people ignore the most. If you live in big apple, you have to know this site. Traveling in subways, you can see this place. Flying in helicopter can show it too. Even the river isn't as clear as it used to be like very big cities in the world, infected by industrial wastes. The place where you can really find out about big apple is this river. The river tells about it's past, the riverbank tells about the present world of modern New York. The place where many historical events took place, when Henry Hudson’s ship first sailed into the river, and well... there are just are too many of them.

This is an important place to me because I meant alot of famous people there. For example I meet the guy from you momma. I made fun of the way he talked and he laughed. It was funny because he didn’t mind what I said and he didn’t mind giving me an autograph. It's a great place to hang out and it's bright. It is also a good place to buy things like shirts and pants. Also I think it is a great place to meet me that is famous. I saw alot of people that are famous like Paris Hilton and other famous people. Also some people may meet there idols and people they wish they could meet well that’s all I have to say about 42nd and I think that anyone would like to be there.

The place that means a lot to me is the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden. As a child I always visited Madison Square Garden every year to see the circus, but now it's really meaningful to me because of the WWE. For years the WWE has been holding events in Madison Square Garden. I have been in MSG when history was made. On March 14, 2004, I went to Wrestlemania 20 with my father. That day I was in a crowd of 22,000 WWE fans. It was an emotional night because I got to go to my first Wrestlemania which is the biggest event in wrestling today and I got to be there with my father and of course the thousands of fans. Another great moment in Madison Square Garden was when I went to Monday Night Raw on September 11, 2006 and a sold out crowd got to witness Lillian Garcia sing "America the Beautiful," and ECW is making its debut in Madison Square Garden. As a 14-year- old living in New York I've witnessed tragedy and also joy from the community. I can also be live in front of over 22,000 fans every time I come to visit the arena. It has been around for a long time and history has been made there from the New York Knicks to the Rangers, the boxing fights, and of course the WWE events. My father and I have had the best time in Madison Square Garden. Madison Square Garden will always be the world’s most famous arena in my point of view.

Hi my name is Jesse and welcome to the section of New York City known as Harlem. This is where I grew up. Harlem is known for it part in hip-hop making songs about food. Everything from ice cream to soup. I used to live on 133rd street and Seventh Avenue. Right now I’m still just a different address. You see In New York Harlem stretches from east 103 all the way up to west 159th street. I used to chill out at the Harlem YMCA but now I chill out at the 14th street YMCA because some of my friends who live around my school do. It isn't fun chilling by yourself.

A Junior Highschool that I don't like, never did. It's obviously a public school, only now the kids that attend the school have to wear uniforms. The school did a total 180 from where it was 5 years ago, all the bad teachers have been taken out and switched with "better" teachers. From being a student there 5 years ago I can say the school was terrible, full of gangs, violence ect.

A place in this community I dislike is Tompkins Square Park. This park is located from 7th street to 10th street Avenue A. This is because to many problems start in or around this park. Dumb arguments turn into fist fights for idiotic reasons. Reasons like the way someone looks at something or someone the ''wrong'' way. Even the way you talk to somebody you might like but they think you don't think you don't like them might cause a bad misunderstanding. Fight's be poppin' off just by the people you know, associate or are friends with. Even though they are really great people you get to meet at this park because they're is always someone around, there is too much "kiddie" (unreasonable) drama always in the midst of these teenagers.

Baruch is located on the lower east side and it is very known. Although it is a quiet neighborhood it has a bad reputation. Some people may call it the "rape area". People at times don't really take Baruch's bad reputation into consideration because it is place where guys and girls to play football, soccer, basketball or baseball. At times people come out to hang out with friends and family. People hold barbecues or birthday parties. There are times when people just walk their dogs through the neighborhood.
My favorite part is a park they call "Big Park". They call it this because it is the biggest park on the block. It has a basketball park, a baseball field, swings and slides for kids to play in.

In this community, Cristy doesn't really have a place to hang out, but She always goes to hang out in Manhattan, N.Y., which is in the Riverside Park, I think on 140 something street and Riverside. In this park, there's a baseball field, people play soccer or football here. There's a seafood court near the dock and a stage. There's a good view of the George Washington Bridge to the North. On the west, you see New Jersey. And to the South, there's a view of Downtown Manhattan, of all the boats, and all of the West side. Here, she comes here with her family for a picnic or have a B-B-Q with everybody. Here, her friends, little brother and cousins get to play a lot of games, look for rocks or sea shells in the mini beach. Or also go to the dock on top and look at New Jersey across the water and try and catch a fish or fishes. Then, in the end, we always play Manhunt or Hide-and-Seek in the area. We always eat hamburgers, hot dogs, steak, ribs, seafood (maybe) and eat ice-cream or, drink sodas or something. Then we say bye to everyone and plan the second b-b-q for the next summer.

I live on the LES, and my favorite place to chill is on my block, D-block. I just chill in front of my building with all my friends and have fun, talk, joke around. I also play ball in my basketball court or I go playfootball at the East River Drive. The LES is where everybody chill at or at least chilled there when they was younger. The LES is kind of peaceful, alot of noise and a couple of fights but other than that its a nice environment.

My favorite place in New York City is King Park in brooklyn. I like this place because it more than just a park. Its where people come to chill and hang out while they waiting for their friend or relative to get their hair cut. Sometimes people with braids and dreads come in even though they dont get hair cuts they just come in to join in on the conversation and with whats going on. People come in and try and sell you anything, they try to sell you chains, cds, bootleg dvds and almost anything you can think of. Then you have people who try and come in and feed you information that they dont even know about. For instance you get your random people all the time who come in and tell you about the fight that happened around the corner, except they didn't even see the fight they just heard probably from someone who heard about what happened andf how the fight started. Sometimes there are other things that happen, like someone would get a fresh haircut, and that would start a whole large conversation about that. Then sometimes my friends would take pictures of people who are really known in the park. Some people are known for playing basketball and being really good at it. Or from playing handball really well or something. Other people are probably known from fighting all the time and knocking people out. This Park is a really good park its kind of like a family park, because one weekends its usually packed with different families from all over who bring their kids out to the park to have a good time. It makes me really comfortable to be in because Im well known and I have a good time over there. The park is sort of like having a membership to go there, because you usually see everyone all the time. Its never really any new faces there.

What I do there is play a card game with my god brother and his girl and my aunt friends while their kids run around like animals playing. But when I am with my little cousin we hangout in the basketball court watching the boys play ball or just talk about things. On the walls there is the sesame street character on it made by an artist who does graffiti. There is also a hand ball court were a lot people play there.

New Yorks very own Central Park is a gigantic park. I love going to central park on the weekend but I don't go every time. I like going with my family. Down at Stuyvesant and Peter Cooper I feel that it is the most racist white area that I've ever known because all those old white folks think they run things just because they live in there. I mean I know we should respect other people’s property but I can't help it. I like to don't following the rules because it's fun. I get away with anything I feel like it depending on what I doing. A friend of mine named Frank lives in this area. There was a time in the summer, on a hot week of summer I saw some workers walking by. I was leaning out the window with a couple of big water balloons and threw them on the workers. In that moment I was dying because the worker got soaked and he was cursing everything out. I hid inside the apartment and closed the window so the worker wouldn't find out that I did that.

This hospital is important to me because my baby sister was born there and my great grandma died there on memorial day 2006 the day before school started. I was also born there and my brother mom and dad were too. It’s a happy and sad place for me. Also one day I broke my ankle and that hospital treated me. I have a lot of memories there without my memories there i would not be who i am today. Also when my great grand mother died that hospital paid half of the money for her funeral. It feels like it is kind of my home, however they do not even remember me because out here in the big apple every hospital has so many paitents. If your ever out in Manhaten and you need to be treated by a hospital then that is the hospital to go to.

My special place are the buildings in front of John Jay park. They are special to me because they really remind me of Europe because the architecture is based on the buildings in 19th century France. They also remind me of home because I come from Europe, and I think that they really bring some European beauty into Manhattan. Some special places in our school community is the park next to our school. The park is located on 76th street and East End Avenue. At ELRO we don't have a big gym so in the warm weather we go in the park and run. During my first period of gym at ELRO we went outside in the park and ran the mile. I like running so it was fun for me. As we took a walk around our community we passed the park... it was nice seeing the litle children play. This story might be common because since I haven't been to this school and neighborhood for long...others haven't. There is nothing much to say about the park but I'm sure it is to other people as well as me very special. The park is the place where people play and practice their favorite sports. I enjoy playing soccer with my friends in the park and to just go out and have fun.

My Special Place
My old daycare is my special place. It is full of many memories. I went there from pre-k to the fifth grade. That’s seven years. That’s a lot of time, considering that that is over half of my life was spent there. Sometimes I wish I never left. When I first went there, when I was just four years old, I didn’t know anyone there. I don’t remember much from then, but I do remember a little. I remember sleeping on small uncomfortable cots. We would always do the macarena (which was a little weird). I also remember being forced to eat gross lunch food after nap time, long thin cubbies with little hooks inside for hanging stuff, and those huge yellow, blue, and red cardboard blocks that looked like bricks. My old playground was where i spent the most of my time where i played in the sandbox and made little rings out of flowers. My most treasured memory from daycare during pre-k was a craft we made. It was a jellyfish on purple construction paper. The jellyfish was made out of glue and glitter. I loved it ( even though i hated jellyfish). My scariest moment was when I was running and I fell and a little gravel scraped my head and I touched my head and I saw blood and I freaked out. I thought I had a hole in my head but it was only a scratch.

Eleanor Roosevelt High School is a school, of course which is all the way up in the Upper East Side. I am not really familiar with the neighborhood, but I soon will. A couple of my friends go around the community to find places to go and chill. The place my friends decided to choose is Subways. I think Subways is the best place for us to hang out and just relax and enjoy our time. We usually go there just eat so we don't get hungry from the rest of the afternoon till we get out. I usually get two double chocolate cookies because those cookies are really good. They really fill you up. I get a subway sandwich when I am really really really hungry. The sandwich of my choice is the chicken teriyaki or maybe the play of the day.

There is also a chinese food restaurant right next door, so if we feel like we don't want to have any sandwiches or cookies, we go to the chinese food restaurant. Although I usually don't go there because of the price on just one dish (7 bucks). If I want chinese food, then I would usually freeload off my friends and then eat off of whatever they have left. We also go to the pizza restaurant if we want pizza.

This is the place me and my friends go to whenever we have lunch. A time for us to chill and a time for us to have fun!

The place that I chose that is close to me is Pick A Bagel. When I was in middle school, Pick a Bagel was a place that everyone used to hang out at after school, and my friends and I always went there at lunch. We went there almost everyday, the workers there knew us by the first month and knew exactly what we were going to order before we told them. This year at Elro I am pretty close by near Pick A Bagel so I still go there a lot with friends, some who we used to go with last year and some new people. I basically chose Pick a Bagel as the place that is special to me because I have a lot of memories there from middle school and it is a place that me and my friends used to go to a lot and still do.

Pier four; called the general are called the Bay by many in the East end. On the banks of Lake Ontario, it is a beautiful area in the middle of the city of Hamilton. I would roller-blade along the winding paths often breathing in the fresh; if slightly polluted air and pushing my muscles to the limit. I would stop accasionally and grab a drink; gazing around at the amazing scenery. This is just an example of my childhood bliss.

The place in my community that's most special to me is the baseball park. I like to go there in the summer on a particularly hot day. It’s just a very relaxing spot for me, to hear the creek laughing and burbling as it travels over and around the smooth pebbles that are embedded in the creek. It sounds like children playing gaily in a soft meadow.
My family usually has my nephew Ryan’s birthday in that park. That is where most of my memories and stories come from. One time me and my sister was walking down a path parallel to the creek and out of the blue my sister shoves me forwards and says “oops!”. I climbed out of the water and said “oh that’s okay I don’t get mad”. I walked up beside her and then whisperd “I get even” and with that I shoved her into the middle of the creek. When she climbed out I said to her “oops!”. She got really mad and said I’m telling dad. Got home the first thing she did was stalk over to dad sucked up to him a little bit and then said, “Dad TJ pushed me in the creek”.

I only really have onne special place in my community. That is My school , JFHMS. The reason it is special to me is that it is where i learned to play basketball. I was in 4th grade when i started AAU. I reamember everyday after school in 4th grade i would go to the school and have practice. It was very hard for me at first never playing before and everyone else playing for atleast 2 years. People would make fun of me but i kept playing. Now 4 years later I am just as good or even better then some of those girls. Now im in 8th grade and i am playing for the eigth grade team and playing on the same court as i was when i was little and had a big dream.

My favorite place is my community. My community is such a beautiful place. Beautiful green grass, trees and colorful flowers all around. One of my favorite places in my community is my house. I can go anywhere hundreds of miles away from my house, but when i come back, it feels so good to be home.
I love inviting my friends over and hanging out with them. They are so fun to be around. When I was younger my friends and I used to play fear factor. We used to love that show and we acted like we on fear factor at my house. We would climb on my swing set and spray each other with a water hose and see how long it took for one of us to get to one end of the swing set to the other end. Then sometimes we would eat food and add different sauces to it and it was really nasty.
I love my community. I also love inviting my friends over to my house and just having a good time together. My community is a beautiful place to live.

As with my culture, a special place for me would be the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is an island country in the Carribean, which flourishes with beautiful scenery and culture which has influenced many parts of the United States. Even though I have never been there due to financial problems, my dream was always to see the beautiful scenery and check out how the rest of my family is doing. My family is always conversing about the beauty of this country, and sometimes I feel left out because I have never been there. But this place holds a special part of my heart, where all of my dreams and aspirations are held.

The place that I like going to the most is the Dominican Republic because I have so much fun when I go there. I get to see my family members every year because I only see them when I am there. I also get to enjoy my whole summer. I get to go to the beach and drive, because in the Dominican Republic children can drive and not get caught because the police over there aren't like the ones over here. It is rare to find a cop over there because they always stay in the precinct. I also get to enjoy my house over there because my mom recently brought it. The house that my mom bought was five million pesos, which is 150,000 dollars. My mom is a business administrator. Finally, I like going to the Dominican Republic because I get to do whatever I want by chillin and hearing my music.

: My community

The place in my community that's most special to me is the baseball park. I like to go there in the summer on a particularly hot day. It’s just a very relaxing spot for me, to hear the creek laughing and burbling as it travels over and around the smooth pebbles that are embedded in the creek. It sounds like children playing gaily in a soft meadow.
My family usually has my nephew Ryan’s birthday in that park. That is where most of my memories and stories come from. One time me and my sister was walking down a path parallel to the creek and out of the blue my sister shoves me forwards and says “oops!”. I climbed out of the water and said “oh that’s okay I don’t get mad”. I walked up beside her and then whisperd “I get even” and with that I shoved her into the middle of the creek. When she climbed out I said to her “oops!”. She got really mad and said I’m telling dad. Got home the first thing she did was stalk over to dad sucked up to him a little bit and then said, “Dad TJ pushed me in the creek”.

A really special place is Tompkins Square Park which is located in 10street in avenue d. Every day I go to the park to play basketball and tag with my two best friends’ garret and brad and they are really funny. Sometimes I get together a game and we play basketball and of course bet them. I taught my two friends how to play basketball really good. Garret is only 10 years old and he bet a 13 year old. Tompkins is a really big place and has a skateboard place and three playgrounds. There are always people in the park but it is not packed at all. If you want to go there you should try hard because it’s a really good place. It is really fun when the parks are full of snow.

Jess Jacob and I took a group of 10 graders from East Side Community High Schoolto John Jay College. First you'll hear my interviews with the students about their futures. Once we got to John Jay, we met up with 3 recent grads from ESCHS who now attend John Jay. They took us around, and I did a "sound scene tour" of our time at the college. In the afternoon we split up into groups and attended classes. Trips like this aren't always as interesting as this one was. It was a great success!

: Broadway Pool

My nearest most favorite community is Broadway. It is where I go to school and play most of my recreational sports. My dad works in Broadway also. I usally go and swim in the Broadway pool everyday at summer. It really cools you down a lot. It has a high dive and when I did a flip off of it one time I accidentaly did a belly flop. I also play JV football at the Broadway High School. We practice about 3 hours a day. It is a lot of fun. We have had 3 injurys already this year. Broadway also has a diner call BRAODWAY DINER. It is really good. My family always goes to the BROADWAY DINER almost every weekend. There are many fabulous places in Broadway,Virginia . Please come visit!

One place that's special to me is my family’s cabin in Lost Hollow, West Virginia. My family and I used to go there all of the time, but we don't that much anymore. I liked it because it was quiet and out in the middle of nowhere. When we would go, its was always me, my parents, sister, aunt, uncle, and cousin. My dad, uncle, and cousin would go hunting, while the rest of us stayed at the cabin and found other things to do.

When I was little I went to my grandma’s house every other weekend. She would pick me up from preschool and we walked back to her house. Then we went to the back yard and we would water her flowers. Then we would go up stairs and she would fix me a kid cozen , she would eat leftovers. Then we would both sit in her big yellow shag rocking chair and listen to wheel of fortune and do a cross word puzzle. Then we would watch jeprody After that we would go to bed. In the morning she would fix me a piece of cinnamon raison bread. Then my mom would pick me up.

: American Museum of Moving Images

For the students at the Baccalaureate School for Global Education, the American Museum of Moving Images is a local site. It is located just a few blocks down from the school. All of the exhibits in this museum are related to how movies are made. Last year, my grade went on a class trip to this museum. I had no idea what it would be like, and thought that it would just be and ordinary boring museum. However, I found it to be very interesting, with loads of hands-on activities to do. We were able to see what televisions were like in the early 1900's, and the different aspects to making a movie. It was a great experience, and I look forward to going there again.

In my old school, I almost got into a fight because some body started throwing rocks at me. I said stop to him five times but he kept on throwing them at me. I got up and pushed him away and he pushed me back. I tripped him and tried to punch him but he blocked and pulled me down. As I fell I punched him. He grabbed me and punched me in my chest. I punched him in the face again and a teacher pulled him away. I got up and ran towards them and the other kids that were watching pulled me back and I could not move.

In the office that kid and I were sitting on a chair and we were waiting for the teacher to suspend us. We shook hands and said that we were going to never do this again.

One day me, my sister, and my boys were riding around bored out of minds.
When one of my boys said, “Let’s go to the Seaport.”
So we go to the Seaport and one of the security guards tell us to get off the boardwalk with our bikes. We all got mad and rode throw the port on I’m our bikes. Me and my sister went to the game store when my boys come zooming past yelling, “SECURITY!!” at the top of their lungs. So my sister hopped on the pegs and we were out.

Before I could get my foot on the peddle my sister yells, “Day-Day!”
I look back and saw the security guard running toward us. So I told my sister to run, while I ran with the bike down a flight of stairs and out of the seaport. When we got outside my sister hopped on and we zoomed to catch up with my boys.

I think that you should visit East 12th Street. I think that is the coolest place to hang out because all my friends live there at least some of them we play basketball and football and other stuff when we play all those games it gets us active and focus on wining. Sometimes we can get bored and just go to the east river and chill there playing baseball these places are very special to me because that is were I spent most of our time at. Spending time with my friends is important to me because I get to know them better as a person. When people go running in the east river we sometimes get board and start making fun of people even that is wrong but we don't really mean it. This is the park that the 7th grade at W.J.P.S. in New York went to. There are some pictures that you can see by checking out our bubble. We had a lot of fun, we played football and the really big sport in the 7th grade soccer!!! Every day at eleven, my friends and I go to Pick a Bagel for lunch. I will never forget this place because this is where I met my best friend. On the first day of school, we both bumped into each other at that place and we were both looking for our friends. Since we couldn't find them, we decided to eat lunch together. From that day, we always go to Pick a Bagel together.

: 3 Star Diner

On some days of the week, my friends and I decide to go to Star Diner. Lately the cold weather, and harsh winds, change our minds for going any other place, the Diner is on the corner of school, so we don't have to walk to far. Lunch starts at about 11:00am, really early, I think, but it's normal now. So my friends and I get a booth, they know us now so we usually just walk in and head towards the back. We also usually get the same thing, two eggs and home fires, so ordering is really fast. When we are done and time to pay our checks, we walk towards the front of the Diner, the same woman is always there handling the money. She is really nice, she give us each a lollipop, for free! I love this diner because its so close and friendly. ((* Don't mind the man standing in the picture, i don't know him, but look beyon him and at the Diner, thats 3 Star Diner *))

Since the Knitting Factory is a small place, it is a very easy way for teengers to get to know each other and bands to be connected with their fans. Bands are excited to play here and the fans are excited to come and see them. Paying for tickets is not a problem because they are so inexpensive. Everyone who comes to these shows share the same music interests.
I noticed this picture is a very clear picture of what the stage of the venue looks like. I think the photographer took the picture like this to show what the stage looked like. It is very small, intimate and dark.
This picture represents what I am trying to get across because it shows that it is small and intimate. The venue is not old looking and is in good condition. The bands are still able to play their music enthusiastically.

This Starbucks is the best of all in the area. I used to go there almost every morning. The people there all know my order and I just have to show up and they start making it. Sometimes they even charge me less for things like if I get a Grande the charge it as a Tall, saves me a $1. Its nice, but I think one of the employees has a grudge against me because I told him the drink he made was not hot and after that he always looks at me funny.

: Central Park Baseball Feilds

Every spring and fall, for seven years and counting, I have gone to central park to play in numerous softball games. My team is made up of 15 girls who I have gotten to know so much better after we have been together for so long. We have grown up together and learned to help each other in many different ways. We have learned of each other strengths and weaknesses as a team. Central Park has brought us all together as a place where we can all feel at home. Once we are practicing or playing a game we learn to work as a team and no longer worry about anything in our outside lives. We have won alot of games and have been placed as undefeated champions for three years in a row. My first homerun that I hit was in Central Park, along with alot of other important events that have made Central Park a very special place that holds alot of memories.

Playing ball on 10 street and Avenue D bka da AVE is something that I have been doing almost everyday since I was just a child. I started playing basketball when I was like 5 or 6 years old but I used to watch my older friends play all the time there. I feel like that park has become a part of me. I can go there and play basketball and feel great about it. 10 street is basically where my game developed. I would go there and practice day after day untill I was tired out my mind and couldn't shoot anymore. I would go home evey night so sore I could barely move a muscle. I love that feeling so much that I would get up and do it day after day. 10 Street is where I found my first true love in basketball. Almost nothing compares to how strongly I feel about basketball. It is my life and I am so proud and excited to say that. I love the atmosphere there. With all my friends and family so close we can go to the park at anytime and they never regret coming to watch me play.
10 Street Park is where I learned what is my purpose in life. I fell in love with basketball there and realized that basketball is what I want to pursue in my career. I remember one day I woke up early at about 8 or 9 and went to the park to play ball. It was 98 degrees outside and really sunny. I had my best nike shorts on with a white t-shirt and my favorite Barkley's. I began by stretching and running three laps around the court. I forgot to buy my usual cherry gatorade so i crossed the street to the store. I returned to the park and began shooting freethrows. I stood at the park from 9am to about 8 pm just playing basketball. All day I was in the park playing basketball with my friends. I was so excited just thinking about how this one sport can be the start of a grand future. It made me realize that my dream is to play basketball. I want to play in a competitve league where I can go against the best of the best. Where I can just be proud of myself for coming along so far and showing the world what I got. When I can demonstrate through physical happiness, through basketball what I devoted my life to doing.

The Crossing - This was were my wife and I hung out after class before we were married, before we were dating even. It is close to campus and it was easy to walk to after an evening class that we had. There is a great sub shop (Yellow Sub) next door. I don't remember which of us came up with the idea of stopping here for a bit after class. Actually, I think it was probably here.

: The Franco-Brazilian School

Our school was called Lycée Pasteur but it has changed to Lycée Français Santos Dumont. It is a bilingual school. Students here learn French and Portuguese from the very beginning of their studies. In 5th grade they start learning English and in 7th grade they can choose between Spanish and German.

These are our school premises, which house students from kindergarten to high school. There are about 850 students in all.

The photo below shows some students in front of a pannel which was put up to shield the school playground from the ugly and dangerous subway building site hole behind it. The subway station works started in 2004 and the Klabin
Station was launched at the beginning of this year (2006). Students, parents and teachers did some graffitti work on the pannel to make it more inviting and colourful.

This is a cool place to hang out. Lots of Dominicans!!!! I spend the least amount of my time where I live. Instead, I usaully spend my time at the Heights (Washington Heights). I have lots of friends there and most of my family. I also work with my father uptown in the Heights. The Heights is a very load and noisy place. There's usually lots of "coro," which means loud ruckus and disturbance!

: Powell's Fort Valley

There is 22 mile long valley called Fort Valley where I used to condition Arabian horses for Endurance Races. It is like a "Little Switzerland." The valley is 22 miles long and 5 miles at its widest, with one road that enters from Edinburg and another through the Passage Creek Gorge.On the east side of the Massenutten Mountains deep in the national forest is a place called Indian Graves. I loved riding the horses with my trusted dog Willie around the Indian Graves. There are no graves as such but evidently there had been many years ago. There is a very peaceful feeling there and the forest is especially dark green with lots of mossy rocks, little springs, ferns and old, old trees. The view through the trees looks out over the valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Oh, what a feeling!

This is what a call New York, I say htis becausse New York is Time Square. Time Square is where all new yorkans go to have fun, watch movies, go to laser park and much more. They have the best hotels coming from the holiday Inn, to the Mariott. I am very happy to be apart of New York for the simple fact that its called the Empire State. Its called the Empire state for many reasons. The reasons I can list to you folks is that the Empire State Building is here which is one of the tallest buildings worldwide and we are also an empire state because we are a strong city that no other place can bring down. If you ever walk around times square also known as 42nd street or forty-duce at night, you will notice that the city never sleeps. It would never be dark around that area due to the face that all the stores show of beautiful lights.

Hi my name is Taquan, I live in New York City. In New York City there is nothing to do but go to school, play basketball and football. I play football with my father, I play tight end and defensive end. When I get older I want to play football and go to the NFL. New York City is a good place to live. You could hang out with your friends, go out to eat, go to the movies. The only problem in New York City is fights. You would have fights for Taking some bodies girl, Jealousy, and trouble makers. If you are looking for a school for football or basketball don’t look for it in Manhattan cause you will not find any. I like to play football and I have to live with my pops if I want to go to a school with a good football team.

: Isaac's favorite place in my community

Some special places in our school community are the park next to our school. The park is located on 76th street and East End avenue. At ELRO we don't have a big gym so in the warm weather we go in the park and run. During my first period of gym at ELRO we went outside in the park and ran the mile. I like running so it was fun for me. As we took a walk around our community we passed the park... it was nice seeing the litle children play. This story might be common because since I haven't been to this school and neighborhood for long...others haven't. There is nothing much to say about the park but i'm sure it is to other people as well as me very special. The park is the place where people play and practice their favorite place. I enjoy to play soccer with my friends in the park and to just go out and have fun.

On Sunday, October 8th, 2006 I joined a group of friends for a visit to the Noguchi Museum. It's within walking distance of the school. The most interesting discovery was that Noguchi and Buckminster Fuller had collaborated. I think my 8th grade students would enjoy a visit to see their futuristic models.

My name is Samantha and I am 15 years old. I go to East Side Community High School, I have been going to this school for 4 years now and I like it here. When I was a little girl my mother and my grandmother took care of me, and my little sister's father was around for a little bit. But he tried to do something to someone (no name). My mother and I had lived in the shelter for part of my life in East Harlem. After my mother had my sister, we moved to Spanish Harlem. I had friends there that I had ever since I lived there. One of my favorite places near my house is Shenandoah National Park. I used to go up there all the time with my family. The last time I was there, we went on this hike to look at the waterfalls. It was all uphill. We didn’t know it was a four mile hike until afterward. It was a extremely difficult hike for experts. My mom, dad, and I didn’t know that when we started. We are very much beginners. At the end, we decided to go get a huge lunch because I was very hungry. It is the last vacation my family ever took together. I will remember it forever.

Most people who live in Queens know about this park, because of its location, and because of its' famous unisphere! It is located very near to Shea Stadium, the home of the New York Mets, and to Arthur Ashe Stadium, home of the U.S. Open. People go to this park to bike, rollerskate, skateboard, or just hang around.

This Chinese restaurant is vary popular between the students of BSGE. When we get out of school 2:15 pm, everyone rushes across the street over to the Flying Dragon for the oh so famous CHIKCEN!

: The Cup

Everybody goes to the cup when they don't have anything to do after school or if an advisor wants to take their class out for lunch. They usually take their students before holidays like Halloween, Christmas and usually for the end of the school year. I only went to cup once and it was the best. I went from my advisory last year (2005), I forgot the occasion but it was really fun since I got to sit with my friends, eat and have fun. We also shared our food so it was like people got different dishes, but everybody tried from everybody's food. It was great, but then at the end we had to rush since we had to go back to school before the end of the class so we won't be late for our next class.
Well if you ever want to go somewhere with your friends and don't have a lot of money with you stop by Cup. Remember to have fun! :-D

: Kaufman Astoria Theatre

This is a very popular theatre that people all over Astoria love to visit. It is just a few blocks from the Baccacaureate School, (BSGE), and so many of my peers have gone there before. A very large theatre, Kaufman is equipped with a game room, (yes, there is Dance Dance Revolution), a concession stand, and tables to sit down and eat after your movie. There are 14 large screens, with many seats. Kaufman Astoria is the perfect place to see a movie without a large wait for ticket lines, or having to go into the city.

: The City Bank Was my Horror

When I was a little girl I was terrified of the City Bank Building. My mother used to drive over the 59th Street Bridge that led towards Manhattan, I used to believe it would follow me. I would look out the window and see it moving towards the direction we were heading. It kind of horrified me to think that I was being followed by a building! When we would pass by it used to think that it would sit down and stop following me. When I was six years old I stopped believing that it would stalk me, I finally got over my fear of a building.

: Wollman Ice Skating Rink

One of the many reasons why I love living in the city is because everything is just so accessible and there are no limits to what you can do on any day. In the beginning of the winter, my two best friends from camp came over for the weekend. They slept over at my house and when we woke up the next morning, we were bored and we needed something to do. So we started to think of places in the neighborhood that we could go and have fun. We decided that we would go into Central Park and go ice skating for the day at Wollman Rink. We left my building and hailed a cab on the corner. It took us over to central park where we got out, and began to walk through the park. It was a nice day outside so we decided to walk around for a little. Once we made our way over to the rink, we bought our tickets, got our skates and we were ready to go. We skated for around 2 hours until we were tired and decided it was time to go home. We walked back through the park the same way that we came in, got in a cab and we were home. It was all that easy. We just decided that we wanted to go ice skating...and we were there! This is why i love the city so much.

This is a picture of Wollman Rink. I think that the photographer may have taken this photo to show the life and enjoyment of the ice skaters. I think he chose to take it on this day because there was a good amount of skaters on the ice. Not empty, but not too crowded. I noticed the angle that the photographer took the picture from. He took it from the side getting the beautiful New York City buildings in the background. I thought it was a great idea because it shows you the ice skating rink and a part of the New York City culture.

The use of scooters on the sidewalk is a danger to society and to the safety of citizens. One day I was walking with my friend Aaron to the park and out of the thin air, a boy with a scooter came zooming by. With no regard for the people around him, he bumped into a little old lady. The lady fell to the ground and and the boy simply zoomed off. The look on his face was like the one in the picture. He was extremely intense and not worried about what was around him. Aaron and I were mortified and proceeded in helping the lady get up. She said thank you and told us that we were very nice young men. This moment helped me realize that the use of scooters on the street is wrong.

Everyone who is a teenager in my neighbor hood good to the park during the summer. For the past three summers I have gone to Carl Shurz Park. It is a place where all my friends and I could meet up for the day and hang out. We always had something to do and never had to stay home. The first summer it was four girls and me. We would go everyday and you never see one of us without another one unless we were on our to meet up with them. We played card games, sat in the sun, and watched people play basketball. It is also right next to the East River that with a walkway and benches overlooking the river. It is somewhere you can go that you can know that you and always know at least one person and always had soemthing to do.

: The Donnell Library Center

I am a member of the library club (ok, lets just establish i am TOTALLY aware that I'm a geek. Books make me happy. I enjoy my classes-except Algebra which I simply tolerate. =) and the members of the library club were able to attend a teen press conference for the Young Adult National Book Awards nominees. We had reach read a book by the nominated author (I read Keturah and Lord Death which I highly recommend). We got to ask the authors questions, get our books singed and walk across central park as a more 'time efficient' way to get back to school. It was amazing and we talked and I thought, Oh my God, we're kind of friends....I'm a freshman and I'm friends with the Juniors of the library club. And it was just happy and....I honestly felt euphoric. Just wandering around too, in the city and in the park...because even though I live here I don't always get to just wander and admire. (Once again, I emphasize that walking across central park was the most time efficient way!).

: Gong Hay Fat Choy! Chinese New Years ^-^

Every year, in the end of January and the beginning of Feburary (usually near the middle), in Chinese culture, we have something called Chinese New Years. It's a day where we meet up our family and exchange, hung baos. (In chinese it means red envelopes) Usually it's full of money, sometimes it's candy/chocloate. So on that day you have to wear red for good luck and if you wear black or green, it's bad, because it means bad luck. For me, i usually visit my grandparents house, near mine and have breakfast with them, for good luck we each (my family and i) eat one egg and recieve our hong baos. Then for lunch and dinner we go over to my relatives house in Brooklyn. There i meet up with cousins, uncles, aunts and whoever shows up there. The grown ups (who are married) give us (the children) hong baos. (You have to be married to give hong baos and also if your married you rarely recieve them.) We say thank you and for the rest of the day keep receiving them and eating, snacks like reddened pitashcios, water melon seeds (also reddened) and other sweet snacks i dont know hwo to say/explain. Later that night when all my relatives gather at one house, we eat dinner. The food is of vast varieties, depending on what my uncle makes or what the other relatives bring. After that day, my family i go back to our home and one by one we open the hung baos and count our money, and happily enjoy the rest of the night.

Last year, over Mid-Winter recess, my best friend, Allie Fishman, and I went to Atlantic City for about five days with Allie's cousin, Bobby and his friend, Henry, to celebrate New Years Eve. We spent the week there until New Years and then the day after New Years we went home. When we were in Atlantic City, Allie and I went rollerblading on the boardwalk basically every day unless we were shopping instead. When New Years Eve finally came, Allie and I straightened our hair, got dressed, put on our makeup and went downstairs to the hotel lobby with Bobby and Henry. When there were ten seconds to 2006, everyone in the lobby started counting down from ten and when it was 12:00 a.m. balloons and confetti fell from the ceiling. It was a very fun night.

People were surprised at Carl Shurz park that I can play basketball so good at a young age. So I was over there playing basketball with my cousin, and three men come by to play a pick-up game. I was doing really good even though they were older, bigger and more athletic than me. Then they asked me what high school I play for, but I was in middle school. That made them very surprised.

This rim reminds me of Carl Shurz park because it is the exact same kind that the park uses.

I think that the photographer took this photograph for a number of reasons. First of all it looks like it's a very hot day. That shows his devotion to basketball. Also I have never seen a rim on the floot, and it looks a little different that way.

One day there was a ski and snowbord contest in Union Square in New York City. They had set up a big ramp coverd in snow. At the bottom of the ramp they had rails and boxs to grind on. It was really cool to see people snowbording and skiing in the middle of New York City especially since there hadn't been snow the whole year. It was fun to see the pros ski and snowbord because i hope to be one.
This is what the snowboarding contest was like. People were doing all kinds of tricks on boxs and rails like this, which was fun to see in the middle of New York City.

I ♥ New York City. My favorite place is 42ns Street. I love the way it feels. It feels warm and it is so beautiful when its dark outside. I love to go to the movies there and go to Lazar-tag. I also like to go to the toy-r-us on 42nd Street. There are all the tourist there to come see the sights and I like that they ask me for directions, and I am able to answer.

I really like it during Christmas time. I just like how it feels. It's warm and I feel nice and I love how everybody is doing the same thing going out to get presents. You also can go and see a movie at Lowes and it is the best place to go because of the atmosphere.

I love the Lower East Side. I love it because it’s never quiet. There’s always something going on. It never gets boring here. Also they have stores like every block. And for the kids its better, because in the suburbs you need a car to get where you need to go to buy stuff. In the city every thing is next to you so you don’t have to be 16 to get your license just to go get something.

Also there are parks here. In the suburbs to go to the park you need to own your own backyard! That is why I love the Lower East Side.

Tompkins square park is a park where kids go all the time. When ever I go there, no one i know is ever there. Now, when ever I go, I call a friend to ask them to come with me. Once when I went there with my brothers, I was playing a game with my younger brother, Tony, and Tony ran at me when i ran down a ramp. He then whacked into me and I went flying onto the floor and skinned my knee. one of Tony's friends named, Ahmed, helped me to my feet. I rolled up my pant leg and watched myself gush blood from my knee. I still have the scar to prove it.
I was in total pain. I didn't want anything else but for it to go away. I was pissed off at my idiot brother for it and I still covered up for him and said I just tripped. Lucky kid. LoL. I was more careful from then on in with my dumbo brother in games.

I went to Dorney Park in the summer. It was fun. I enjoy going to Dorney Park. I love Dorney Park. I am going in the summer again. I went on this ride and it was fun and when the ride started and I started cursing. I liked that ride and I am going on it again when I go to Dorney Park. I love the ride Hydra. I went with my cousin and my aunt and they taking me again. I hope! And I am going to ask my aunt and my cousin. I went on a roller coaster and it made me scream a lot. My cousins I and love that ride we went on. I went on this water ride and it was so much fun. It was hot on Dorney Park. I can’t wait to go. I want to go so bad. I am going different rides and I am going on the same rides I went on before. Some of the rides I went was fast and I like fast rides because it become more fun but it get you dizzy. It got me dizzy alot. My head was so dizzy. I know it fun so if you never went before you should go this year. It is in Pennsylvania. I have been in Pennsylvania. My uncle lives in Pennsylvania. So you should go if you never went before.

I like FDR Drive. I go every Saturday to FDR Drive. At FDR Drive I play sports. I have tons of fun. I see people playing39965126_abc9a3309a_m baseball,football,soccer,wrestling and even track. When I go to FDR Drive I just let myself go and i fall on the ground where there is fake grass. I have played many sports at FDR Drive. I've even gotten hurt at FDR Drive. Nothing serious though just nose bleeds and bruises. Thats mostly from football and wrestling. Sometime since field one isso big sometime I forget to to pick up the football and I go home and I forget the football there. FDR Drive is the place to be when its summer. FDR Drive is my place to be.

The one place that I used to go to the most recently closed down: The Lazer Park. TT_TT I used to love going to that arcade. EveArcades+slope+constructionry week, I would go to play a lot of games that have either shooting or dance dance revolution. I would spend almost all my money on playinglazer tag with a huge group of people... mainly friends. I was saving up a lot of tickets to get this one thing that I really wanted to get for my little sister from there but now that it is closed down... I can't even get it for her. If I knew another place that sold it, it wouldn't be a big deal. But the bad thing is that I do not know a place. Another place that I love on 42ND street is the Dave And Busters Arcade And Bar. It's really nice. I took my dad there for his birthday. Of course, he went to the bar part of the place and I went to the arcade part of the place. It's bigger than it looks on the inside... a lot bigger. The bar is only a bar at the night time. But in the mornings to afternoons, it's a wonderful restaurant to grab a bite to eat. The workers there are really nice and so are the prices!XD
At least they're reasonable to pay. The prizes there though are really great. But... the amount of tickets needed is a bit scary. But it's not impossible. You just can't get it all in one shot. I was trying to get a 360 game and I'm almost done with it!!!! ^_^ I go to a lot of arcades in my free time. A lot of them are only on 42ND street. That's where I met the most of my friends. I love arcades..... but I guess only in the winter. In the summer, I don't go that much at all. I "live" at the pool in the summer!XD

If you get a chance... stop by some time to the Dave and Buster's Arcade!!!!!

Olde Columbine High School is a alternative high school it’s a alternative school because a lot of students come here because real high school didn’t work out for them for what ever reason it could have been because there old school where too big and that the teacher didn’t pay any attention to them or that they were different from everyone in there old high school or that the students wanted to come to here because they wanted a voice and the ability to change something that they didn’t like the way it was going.
At Olde Columbine High School you would not be ignored because the population is 80 -100 a quarter and the teacher student ratio is 10:1 so it’s impossible to be ignored. Every one at Olde Columbine is different like we have Goths, the jocks, the smart kids, smokers, country kids and they all talk to each other they all hang out with each other at lunch time and they all meet at the ditch which is like a holy place for the students that attend Olde Columbine High. It’s a place where you want to run to when so much is going on at the same time it’s also a place where you want to blow some steam off and just take out you rage. Some students also go to the ditch to smoke their anger away.

Park City Mountain Resort is located just off the freeway I-80. You could call it a somewhat lay low down to earth place. The homes there all resemble log homes and it is a tight community. The exquisite scenery is what brings most people here because mixtures of pine trees, snow and mountains link perfect harmony. PCMR is also home to several tasty restaurants that are worth coming to, but be sure your pockets are deep; this is no 3rd world city up here!

My favorite place in my community is The Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club. With its two clay tennis courts, ten outdoor courts, and six indoor courts, it is a tennis player’s dream! It also has a great outdoor pool for summer use and a snack bar. The Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club is a great place to be.

Great Harvest Bread is a place where in cross-country season I always went there with my friends from the team and got free samples of bread. The smell of fresh bread floated through the air. It was really nice to just relax after workouts and just sit there and talk on the shaded patio with its cool metal chairs.

Rice Eccles Football Stadium, home to the University of Utah football team. The stadium lined with the red and silver bleachers and chairs. Any other color blurred out in the sea of red and white shirts any sound blurred out by the screaming of the crowd and the instruments of the band, as the whole stadium sings the corresponding words to the fight song.

The Hogle Zoo holds a lot of memories for me. I can remember going there all the time as a little kid. Recently I went back and it was cool to see how my perspective has changed. Everything seemed so small! But the train rides, playgrounds, and animal exhibits were still as fun as ever.

Nelsons, the best frozen yogurt you will ever taste. Ever since I was little I have been going to this old style diner. Everyone where I live knows what you mean when you say you’re going to Nelsons. At nighttime the lines are massive but it’s defiantly worth the wait. My life here is carefree and enjoyable, Nelsons just makes it all the better.

The 7-11 by my house is special to me. It’s far enough away that you get a workout to get there, but close enough that it’s easy to get to. I always went there with friends. I have a lot of memories there and I’ve had lots of fun there.

A special place in Salt Lake City is this gathering spot called 15th and 15th. This neighborhood “nitch” has a coffee shop, a bagel shop, a bookstore, a hair salon, a clothing store, a fancy restaurant, and a jewelry boutique. 15th and 15th is a bustling and busy neighborhood full of families, bikers, runners, and people from all over the valley gathering to have a good time and relax.

No need to sneak, no one notices we’re gone. Teachers pretend they don’t see us, and we go along with the charade that we don’t ditch. Bowling the ultimate activity and we realize that this is the best times will get. We enjoy the burrito in the alley on our way to school’s end. Our great alley escape.

The best restaurant for a rainy day, the atmosphere is soothing and the walls covered with windows. The air is filled with the smell of multiple noodles and has a natural warmth to it. There is a constant buzz of voices mingling together with cars from outside. All and all, it's a restaurant filled with comfort.

: Rainbow Gardens Gift Shop: The Greenery Restaurant

The awesome restaurant that is rainbow gardens, is small but comfy, we went for a walk, and got a scary surprise from a T-Rex hiding in the bushy trees. The best food at the Greenery is the grilled cheese sandwiches, the enchiladas, and the Mormon muffins. We would always find funny and cool stuff at the gift shops, and enjoy a fun walk through the dinosaur park; the place is hidden within nature, and right next to a rocky waterfall.

: Sugarhouse Park

Sugarhouse Park is a place where people with nothing else in common can all assemble with a similar goal: to exercise. People go there to walk, run, roller skate, practice sports, and do yoga. Sometimes I even see kids learning to joust when i go there in the summer, complete with medieval costumes and shields. The green grass and dirt trails are great for all types of activities, and make it the best park in the city.

I convinced Luke Bettin to conquer his life long fear and jump from atop the ten-meter platform. Eventually he got a running start and threw himself from the top. As he climbed from the icy water, he was clutching his chest with a pained expression on his face. Through the courage it took to leap, he had tore his pectorals.

The gateway. Delicious smells, amazing movies, and fun stores. This outdoor mall has it all from exquisite cuisine to the latest movies. You can go shopping, eat dinner, and go to a movie all in one night in whatever order you want.

With the lamp post shinning on my profile I rush down the steep dark stair well into the underground Pizzeria. The charcoal brick walls are covered with writing as if it were a bathroom stall. Posters, I heart so and so, and signatures throughout the years surround my favorite space. The young college kids having a midnight snack after long hours of studying love to relax here and pig out with friends.

The teachers from Connecticut and The Netherlands came to B.S.G.E. for a day of planning our multicultural exchange. Our schools will participate in a collaboration between schools to uncover the "richness within". Thalysia is my partner teacher. I thin we will have a fine time collaborating.
