FFA Living to Serve Communities: 2009-2010

Rural Youth Development/Living to Serve, Developing a Habit of the Heart, is a federally funded program focused on rural communities to develop, implement and evaluate community-based service-learning projects that meet an identified community need. Projects must utilize the skills agriculture students are learning in the classroom to meet those needs
Successful Living to Serve Projects:
Occur over the course of a year and utilize the knowledge and skills of the youth;
Improve the human, social, civic and other capitals in their communities;
Reach diverse audiences;
Whenever possible, collaborate with FFA Alumni, booster clubs, etc.;
Collaborate with other organizations serving rural youth, and ;
Involve youth in the design and implementation of their civic engagement /service-learning activities.
