Historic centre of São Paulo

On Friday 17th November 2006, the three classes of 10th grade and one class of the 11th grade of the Lycée Santos Dumont (66 students at all) and 5 teachers went to a tour in the historic centre of São Paulo. We visited many important places, such as the Banespa building and the Bovespa stock exchange.

Historic centre of São Paulo

On Friday 17th November 2006, the three classes of 10th grade and one class of the 11th grade of the Lycée Santos Dumont (66 students at all) and 5 teachers went to a tour in the historic centre of São Paulo. We visited many important places, such as the Banespa building and the Bovespa stock exchange.

: São Francisco de Assis church

The church was built in 1642. It is a simple and nice place. When we finished the visit (the last one of the tour), we went to the Sé station, then we made a break at the Ana Rosa station and finally arrived at the Chácara Klabin station. We were back in school around 4 PM.

: Bovespa

After visiting the ''Pátio do Colégio Anchieta'', we went to the Bovespa stock exchange, the biggest in Latin America. We learnt the mecanism of a stock exchange, what are the entreprises that participate of the Bovespa, etc... I enjoyed very much this place, because I'm interested in this kind of organisation (I'm keen on financial subjects). Then we had a break to lunch and visited the Banespa building.

This is the Banespa building, one of the highest of São Paulo. We visited the penthouse, where we had an amazing view of the whole town, a good opportunity to take photos. The next place to go was the São Francisco de Assis church.

This is where my school is located. We left it at 8h15 in the morning and crossed the road, to get to the underground. We were going to visit the historic centre of the city.

: Pátio do Colégio Anchieta

This is the ''Pátio do Colégio Anchieta'' (where we went after leaving the Sé station), considered as the place of foundation of São Paulo. It was constructed by the Portuguese in the XVI century. The monument is great, but the problem is that I had already visited it many times, so I didn't enjoy so much.

: Chácara Klabin station

This is the underground station we got in after we left the school. It is called Chácara Klabin. It was inaugurated this year, and it is very good because the station is located near our school.

: Sé station

This is the Sé station. We arrived there around 8h40, and then we went to the XV de Novembro street, where the teachers explained to us what we were supposed to visit. This station is probably the biggest one I've ever been in Brazil, so I was impressed by the number of people walking there.

This is the Ana Rosa station. We stopped there to change the line, which would take us to the Sé station.
