Instructions
------------
1. Login to the map using
username: mcaforum
password: mcaforum
You may also create your own registration.
2. Drag the map to bring the approximate location to the centre of the map window. Then Zoom to the maximum possible extent to identify the exact location or building to pinpoint it. The default map view is India, but you can also mark places outside India. Please don't place a marker on a generalized manner without locating the actual building/place using maximum possible zoom.
3. Click on "Add Marker". A box will open. Don't write anything in the box. Instead click on the exact location/building on the map. This will place a pin on the desired location and open the information box.
4. It is essential that you select the correct category type for the location in the information box. Fill in all other details, including address, website, phone numbers, email etc. You can also add photos and audio.
5. Since this is community mapping, you can change/edit the information and placemarks posted by others (unless the member has posted from his/her own registered ID). But do so, only if you feel that the information or placemark is wrong or inadequate. It would be better if you add a comment citing the reason for changing.
6. Members may also post a general comment by clicking on "add a comment" link at the bottom of the map
7. Members may mark locations and paths which are connected to IGNOU or to their personal locations. Some examples are IGNOU Regional Centres, Study Centres, Tutorial Homes, Photocopying shops, computer hardware and software shops, IT companies etc. The complete list of the categories of locations are available in the placemark drop down combo within the location information box. Members may also suggest new categories to me.
8. Priority should be given to mark all the IGNOU Regional Centres and Study Centres where MCA is taught and their details like website, address, email, phone number, photo etc.
9. Forum's User Profile view also shows the map in read-only mode. The default is a zoomed out view of India. Please zoom in to the maximum allowed limit to see the precise location/building/area. To insert placemarks, you must go to http://www.communitywalk.com/imsf and login.
10. Please PM me through the forum for any further query regarding community mapping. Like the forum, the locations on this map have to be set up by the collective efforts of the members of the IMSF community.
