Marker reads An outgrowth of Lewis Craigs Traveling Church, this is oldest continuous congregation north of KY. River. It arrived here from Gilberts Creek in 1783. Originally Baptist, became Christian Church, around 1830, influenced by B. W. Stone and Alex. Campbell. Prominent pastors include Jacob Creath, Sr., Jacob Creath, Jr., and Elder John Smith. Present sanctuary rebuilt, 1870.
