A 30-year-old Mabuiag Island man is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later today after he was charged in relation to the assault of a Cairns Airport Police Officer yesterday morning. It is alleged that the man was catching a flight from Cairns when he was arrested in relation to a matter. It is further alleged that whilst being led from the terminal the man head-butted the male officer, who suffered facial abrasions as a result. The man was charged with serious assault.
