The place evokes the feeling of nighttime on Shackleford Banks, so the cafe's decor is "swampy" in character, complete with swamp sounds but minus the mosquitoes. The panoramic view of Bogue Sound adds to the atmosphere.They use fresh in-season fish and vegetables. Children are always welcome with a particular treat for them being the s'mores. Those old-fashioned chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker concoctions that you make at the table. The cafe is open 7 days a week, with brunch on Sunday, during the season. Winter hours are shorter, so call first. There is a spacious patio for al fresco dining with a water view.
