4. Angel, Paisley Road West
This very grand building dates from the late 19th century and stands on the gushet between Paisley Road West and Govan Road (a gushet is the triangular plot of land at a fork in the road). On top of the building is this golden angel, a real Glasgow landmark. The Angel can be seen from quite a distance, and makes a dramatic and striking shape against the skyline of the city.
