Police are investigating the alleged assault of a store employee and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle at a Sheridan Street convenience store around 7.20 this morning. An altercation broke out after two offenders were allegedly approached by an employee after they were seen rummaging through a car in the store car park. During the struggle a further two offenders allegedly became involved in the altercation. A male offender then allegedly removed a start picket from a garden bed and then entered the convenience store where he allegedly struck a second store employee in the head. A female offender allegedly threw a store sign to smash a locked automatic glass sliding door. The employee was taken to hospital for treatment. Police investigations are continuing.
