The Appalachian String Band Music Festival (often referred to simply as Clifftop) first weekend in August is a popular five-day festival devoted to old-time music (as well as related arts such as square dancing, clogging, and hymn singing), which takes place each summer at Camp Washington-Carver, in Clifftop, Fayette County, West Virginia, United States. It was established in 1989.
The festival attracts approximately 3,000 participants annually. Many participants camp for the duration of the festival, which features stage performances, workshops, competitions, and vendors, as well as numerous informal jams that often last well into the night.
