Cairns Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a North Cairns service station overnight. An offender entered the Sheridan Street business shortly after 9pm and produced what appeared to be a firearm before making a demand of the console operator. The offender fled with a sum of cash. He was last seen running south on Sheridan Street. The console operator was not injured during the incident. The offender is described as being a male of Caucasian appearance and was wearing a blue anorak style hooded jacket and rolled up blue jeans. He was bare foot and also in possession of a green balaclava.
