Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a taxi driver that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning. The offender got into the cab in Lake Street at around 4am and requested to be driven to Goodfellow Court. On arrival at the destination he produced a large knife and demanded the driver’s takings. The driver handed over a sum of money and the offender then fled through a laneway. The driver was not injured as a result of the incident. The offender is described as being a male Caucasian approximately 20 years of age, of slim build and about 175cms tall.
