Armenia, 1918-1920
After being a party in the 1918 peace conference, Talaat extends a gesture of good will by declaring all Armenians in Turkey will be given amnesty. However, most Armenians had already fled or were still being killed. Nevertheless, later that year Allied forces begin to penetrate the Ottoman Empire. Realizing the gravity of this, the leaders of the Young Turks fled Turkey, allowing the state of Armenia to be realized and recognized by the Allies.
The total death toll was about 1.5 million.
