Police are investigating the assault of a Cairns man which occurred in Upward Street yesterday. Around 6.10pm the man was out running when he became aware of a verbal argument between a male motorist and a bus driver. The victim spoke to the motorist briefly and then continued running. As he was approaching Lake Street he came across the motorist again. The man then punched the victim in the face before driving off in a yellow Hyundai car. The motorist is described as being a Caucasian male about 35 years of age, 178cm tall and of solid build.
