Assault occasioning bodily harm, Cairns North

Police are investigating a serious assault that allegedly occurred at a Sheridan Street unit at around 9pm yesterday. It is believed that a 45-year-old male resident of the unit had invited a number of people to his unit after meeting them in a nearby park. Police believe an argument ensued and the man was allegedly assaulted by the visitors. He was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital with a fractured leg and facial lacerations. Two men aged 38; another aged 44 and a 47-year-old woman were taken into custody and are assisting detectives with their inquiries.
