Assault occasioning bodily harm, Mount Sheridan

Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 49-year-old local man at Foster Road, Mount Sheridan that occurred around 5.30pm on Saturday. It is believed that both the offender and victim got off a bus at Whiterock and walked separately towards Foster Road. The 49-year-old man was walking in front of the offender when he was allegedly struck from behind with an unknown object. The 49-year-old suffered bruises and a welt mark across his back. The offender fled, he was last seen running down Orpheus Close. The male offender is described as having a dark complexion, aged in his late teens, 180cm tall, slim athletic build with black hair. He was wearing dark blue navy shorts with a checkered pattern, a t-shirt, running shoes, carrying a light coloured backpack and possibly wearing a hat.
