Police charged an 18-year-old Woree man yesterday with one count each of breach of bail, obstruct police and assault police. It is alleged at 8.50 last night police were called to attend an address on the Bruce Highway, Woree. A dog squad officer commenced a foot pursuit after the man fled into a nearby cane field. The officer located the man and was assaulted however did not sustain any injuries. The man will appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
