Attempted robbery, Mooroobool

Detectives are investigating an attempted armed robbery offence that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning. A 52-year-old man was walking along Callum Street at about 6am when he was approached by a group of about six children, one of whom was in possession of a metal bar. The youths demanded the man hand over his wallet however he was able to back away and run to a nearby news agency. The group of five males and a female are described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between about 12 and 16 years. QP1000879468
