Police are investigating the attempted theft of a safe from a Macrossan Street shop around 5.10 yesterday afternoon. The unknown offender gained entry to the store room and removed a portable safe before hiding it under some towels. Contents of the safe and the safe were not removed from the store. Police are searching for a male with a dark complexion aged around 28. He is approximately 180cm tall, of medium build, black hair and had a goatee.
