In Tropical Storm Isabel (2001), water levels rose to about one foot deep in the house and it has since been removed. The actual lot (yard) managed well in the storm protected by a thick layer of rip rap along the seaward edge. Interestingly, a lady I met in 1978 at this location pointed into the Bay and told me years ago her father had farmed a field "out there" that is now eroded away.
