Where at a public roadhouse on Sunday evening, October 6, 1861, Patrick Beggan challenged a man named Heuston to a boxing match to determine who was the better boxer. The police charged Beggan with having been partially undressed, and in a fighting position. Heuston ran away. The Court dismissed the case against Beggan, fined Heuston 6d. and costs, and cautioned them against whiskey-drinking and quarrelling.
