September 2007 - a sighting occurred south of Bellflower and north of Mansfield, Illinois. A fisherman reported seeing a pair of upright walking ape-like animals, one of which made a sound that he failed to associate with any he's ever heard before, -he left abruptly leaving his gear behind. Badly frightened, the man enlisted an armed hunter-friend to retrieve his fishing gear for him. The surrounding wooded areas have no rodent wildlife left there anymore. The witness drives a semi, delivering parts to a new wind-farm out in that area.
