Dan's Lost Ski Area Explorations

Reopening Rumors: When I visited this area in May of 2008, there was A LOT of construction happening! The entire west facing slope looked as if it was being cleared out and graded. I'm unsure of the nature of the clearing, but it was definitely on the former ski trails. Some of the night skiing lights on trees in that area looked almost new. Stay on the lookout for more news in the future.

**May 2008**
Trails: As mentioned above, the west facing slope was in the process of being cleared while I was there. However, most of the slopes on the upper half of the mountain have now just about fully "gone back to nature."
Lifts: North facing slope stabil-disc lift towers and return bullwheel still standing, although VERY rusty. No sign of the cable or discs. Upper T-bar LONG gone, just concrete base pads left. West facing slope disc lift should still be there, but didn't explore because of construction.
Facilities: Only explored the mid-mountain area, so I'm not sure what's really left down at the base.
Accessibility: Hiked into area via legit ATV trail underneath the powerline that bisects the old area. The gated/posted road to the base was unlocked on this day because of the work being conducted.

**October 2007:**
Trails: Nothing visible from road.
Lifts: Unknown.
Facilities: Unknown.
Accessibility: Drove by on Route 4A. Base area road gated and posted.
