Located in the Franciacorta region and surrounded by vineyard's hills, it is a rare example of a renaissance villa built inside a medieval fortress. The villa was the meeting point of artists and poets coming from any part of Italy, amongst which is worth mentioning Dante Alighieri. In the 18th century park, where once was the ancient "receptum" and which offers an enchanting panorama, can be admired Lebanon cedars, deodara cedars, ginkobiloba and, very rare, a Iaponic Sophora 200 years old, which is the only tree survived amongst those imported in Europe at the end of 1700. The interior of the guard-tower was magically turned into a mysterious grotto. Since the Middle Ages in the cellars of the castle, originally used as prison, the wine "Terre di Franciacorta" is produced. It is still possible to taste and buy some at the castle.
