A good description of Brietenbush is available here

Breitenbush is an intentional community and worker owned cooperative whose mission it is to care for the hot springs, the land and the Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat and Conference Center.

Nested in 154 acres of pristine forest Breitenbush offers Hot Springs & Steam Sauna, simple cabins, healthful foods and workshops, conference and meeting spaces.

The prolific hot springs have long been a destination for those seeking healing, rejuvenation, and community. Three Meadow pools that are lined with smooth rocks and overlook the river. The four tiled Spiral Tubs are aligned in the cardinal directions with increasing temperatures. They are adjoined by the cedar tub cold plunge. The Sauna is a whimsical cedar cabin resting atop the bubbling waters. All are clothing optional and available for your use 24 hours a day.

Directions: From Interstate 5 at Salem, take exit 253 and head east toward Stayton/Detroit on Hwy 22. After crossing the Detroit bridge, turn left onto Hwy 46 at the only gas station in Detroit and head north. Drive 9.5 miles and just past Cleator Bend Campground take a right onto the single lane bridge crossing the Breitenbush River. The road is gravel after the bridge and has three forks in its 1 mile course. Take a left at every fork and you will end up in our parking lot. You’re home! Please Note: Alternate route, Highway 224 (US Forest Service Route 46) from Estacada is often dangerous or impassable due to snow and ice from early fall through late spring.
