Burglar arrested, Parramatta Park

A 46-year old Parramatta Park man is scheduled to appear in the in the Cairns Magistrates Court later today following an incident at a Parramatta Park unit on Saturday morning. It is alleged that the man gained entry to the unit at about 7.15am and stole a number of items before being disturbed by the male resident who chased him from the unit. The resident then tackled the offender and a scuffle ensued, during which the resident was assaulted. The resident then restrained the offender until police arrived. The man was charged with burglary, assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault.
