Burning Man 2006 will run from August 28th through September 4th, 2006, during which time an entire city will be built from the ground up for the festivities eventually culminating in the burning of the huge structure in the form of a man.

Then the whole city will be torn down and every scrap of paper removed from the playa until there is no trace anything was ever there. (Well, that's not quite true. View this in sat or hybrid view and zoom in and you can see the inevitable scars of Black Rock City despite the best attempts by man to restore a pristine, smooth surface.

Nudity is common on the Playa and people get along real well for this annual event.

One of my dear friends, Robert (aka The Naked Gourmet or NG, for short) has been making this pigramage for the last several years and has excited me about an opportunity to group with his Tribe during this years event . . . for which I am going to make me best attempt to do. Burning Man attendees always come back positively charged with life and love . . . it is something you've got to experience. Life should be happy and fun.

An excellent description of the routes to Burning Man is given here. I would prefer route #3 as it also takes you by Summer Lake Hot Springs (a good place to meet up with other Burners) and also because this is the lowest of possible passes into Nevada. When I get around to it (and the BM organizers decide if the location will be the same as last years), I will produce a Google KMZ file depicting the routes.
