Cairns police are investigating an assault that occurred on a taxi driver outside a Queen Street residence on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 4.00pm as a result of a dispute over a fare. It is alleged the male offender struck the 38-year-old driver a number of times with his forearm. Investigations are continuing in relation to the incident.
