Calatabiano is notably renowned for the naturalistic Alcantara gorges, nearby located, and the remnants of a castle of presumed Arabian origin. Decayed with the passing of time, the latter only retains a church dedicated to Jesus and Mary, built after 1693. A number of churches in town are worth-visiting.
