Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) Memorial, Beside Glasgow Museum & Art Gallery
This war memorial remembers the dead of both World War I and World War II. The plinth has inscriptions and plaques which explain the purpose of the memorial, and some lines of verse which inspire the viewer to think of the sacrifices made by the soldiers of the Cameronians Regiment. The sculpture on top is a very moving scene of three soldiers on the battlefield. The two soldiers on the right are firing and making a charge, but the soldier on the left has been wounded or killed and lies slumped beside his friends.
