Charing Cross
This remarkable building was designed by J.J. Burnet (1857-1938) and finished in 1891. It has a very French feel to it, with a steeply sloping roof and a spectacular tower. But best of all is the stunning red sandstone sculptures around the clock by sculptor William Birnie Rhind (1853-1933). You can see other carvings by him at St-Georges-In-The-Fields Church, The Boer War Memorial, and The Sun Life Building.
