In 1977, the Chicago Apparel Center was completed. The 1.5 million square foot building houses wholesale apparel showrooms, office and retail space, along with a 3,400 square foot conferencing facility and a 525-room business class hotel, Holiday Inn Mart Plaza. Over 800,000 square feet is used for office space and includes major tenants such as Ameritech, FOX Sports Chicago, Bank of America and 21st Century Telecom.

With more than 300 wholesale showrooms for apparel and accessories, the Apparel Center serves apparel retailers by hosting market events, fashion shows, seminars and promotional programs designed to attract apparel buyers.
