Cold Springs Reservoir
Category: Irrigation
Cold Springs was built in 1907 for the Hermiston Irrigation project, which was executed in compliance with the Reclamation Act passed by Congress in 1902. The project helped agriculture flourish in the Hermiston area. The reservoir stores the Umatilla river's spring-time flood water and saves it for distribution during the summer. It also collects water from the Columbia.
