The only way to get from Evans Street to the Memorial Drive shopping areas (without biking on the horribly dangerous Memorial Drive!) so to cut through neighborhoods. BUT, most Greenville neighborhoods are cut off from one another by either drainage ditches or railroad tracks. this is one example. It is possible to carry a bike over the ditch and then over the railroad tracks at this location (I do it at least weekly), but we should really have ped/bike bridges over the ditch -- at least (and maybe even overpasses over the tracks).
