The Conococheague FFA chapter in partnership with the Horticulture class at James Buchanan High School grew fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement supplies at their school.  In 2002, data showed that 18% of children in Pennsylvania were obese and an even higher number were at risk at risk of becoming over weight. The FFA students developed and implemented a program that supplied the high school with locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables and provided elementary students with a chance to learn gardening skills and healthy food information.
