Craft Island and South Beach

Category: C/O Beaches

Used in the following map:

C/O Hiking & Soaking in the Western U.S. & Canada

This area has long been known to the locals. Parking is limited at the end of Rawlins road, please park on the right side, leaving the left side for traffic outbound. The Hike out to Craft Island takes about 30 minutes after parking. The small island is wind swept and exposed to the westerly winds. The more secluded southern Bay dike area (a walk of 10/15 minutes) is actually preferred. These are State game lands and the locals monitor the area. Just be respectful of the property owners on your way in and you will truly enjoy this area.
Walk south on the dike, till you come upon the Skagit Gun Club Hunting sign, there you can head straight out towards the water, and find any area that suits you.
The area is Marshland, but once you are out by the water (75 yrds) its sand and hardpack. No overnight parking or camping is allowed.
