A 28-year-old Edmonton man was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or a drug following a two vehicle traffic crash on the Bruce Highway at Bentley Park on Friday night. It is alleged that the man’s utility collided with the rear of another vehicle at the intersection with Robert Road at about 10.15pm before driving off. Police located the man at his home address a short time later and he allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of .221%. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on April 19.
