Drink driver charged after traffic crash, Bungalow

Police were called to a three vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of Mulgrave Road and McCoombe Street at Bungalow on Thursday afternoon. A female driver of one of the vehicles was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital and treated for injuries as a result of the crash. A 47-year-old Earlville man who was the driver of one of the involved vehicles allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of .148% and was charged with drink driving as well as unlicensed driving. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 15.
