A 23-year-old Palm Cove was also involved in a single vehicle crash on the Captain Cook Highway, north of Ellis Beach, around 8.30pm. It is alleged the man returned a breath alcohol reading of .133%. The 23-year-old was charged with drink driving and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court in March.
No one was injured during either incident.
