Drug arrests follow Smithfield Operation

Smithfield Police conducted an early morning drug operation throughout Smithfield and the northern beaches yesterday. Search warrants were executed at addresses at Trinity, Kewarra, Clifton and Machans Beaches as well as Smithfield, Trinity Park and Yorkeys Knob. Ten people are facing a total of 16 charges including possession of a dangerous drug and possession of utensils and will appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court next month. Officers allegedly located a variety of drugs including cannabis, hashish, LSD, amphetamine and heroin.
