Edifício Itália (Itália Building), built in 1956, has been the city's highest building for a long time. It was named Itália in honor of the Italians who helped build the city.

Its 45th floor is home to Terraço Itália, a famous restaurant from where it is possible to admire one of the city's most beautiful views.
