Albert Emery's wife, who was related to the Holbrooks who ran the grocers on Maggs Hill, ran a paint and wallpaper shop here. Later this became Little Stichcraft; Mrs Stiles sold wool. After she died, her daughter Mrs Carrington carried on the business.
