The Darwin gaol is now a tourist site - but it is well designed to keep tourists trapped on the inside. Constructed in 1882 Fannie Bay Gaol Museum houses the old gallows used for the last execution in the Northern Territory in 1952. The gaol, closed in 1979, was turned into a Museum in 1982.
