Former Sheriff Courts
Category: Historic Building/Architectural Interest
The once landmark sheriff courts of Ingram Street is now home to 'Citation' a rather stylish taverne and restaurant.
Originally the municipal and county buildings 1842, this enormous Greek revival building was last re-modelled by Clarke and Bell in 1892.
The facade of the building can be easily recognised by its distinctive portico of columns built above a plinth displaying exuisite carvings of classical, robed figures.
