Dan's Lost Ski Area Explorations

User Rating

**July 2008**
Trails: Still mostly visible, but definitely going back to nature. Some of the upper trails have been slightly parcelized by a new housing development's road constructed near the summit.
Lifts: The main (and crazy steep) T-bar was removed several years ago and now operates at a private area in Moretown, VT. The small beginner ropetow near the base lodge still stands almost entirely intact. An engine room and several motors remain near the summit area, left over from lifts that most likely predated the T-bar.
Facilities: The nice looking "gingerbread house" lodge still stands, and appears to now be a private home. A few dilapidated shacks remain near the base as well.
Accessibility: The old base area is now basically just someone's driveway, but at the time of this visit, the summit of the area was very easily accessible because of the new housing development road that was built. However, the development of lots in this area will most surely remove all traces of the ski operation soon, and the trails will be left to go back to nature, ala Thunderhead.
