Funase Onsen (船瀬温泉)

If you survive the windy road, you will know when you reach the entrance to the onsen. The narrow, rickety road has a wide newly paved and landscaped road heading up the hillside to the right to the onsen. There are two separate gender outdoor rotenburo, and one outdoor 'family bath' that you can rent for a mere ¥1500 for an hour.
Indoors, there is a hot and cold bath, as well as a wooden dry sauna.

The views are amazing, the food (apparently) delicious, and there were even mini waterfalls that could fall onto your back to pound out knots in your muscles.

If you continue past the onsen, you reach the lighthouse park, which is well worth your while to visit while you're in the area.
